Randle Guides Dreamland Bedding to Success

Matt Randle, general manager of Dreamland Bedding, has led the company to success and has been a finalist in this year’s People in Retail Awards. He attributes his success to his willingness to take on new opportunities and learn from them.

According to the report, Randle’s passion for education and learning started when he was in his early twenties, doing an apprenticeship. He realized he enjoyed learning and decided to go to university to study Business Enterprise, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises and retail.

Leadership and Learning

Randle believes that leadership is about taking everyone into account when making decisions and developing the business. He describes it as stakeholder leadership, which considers the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit.

He has developed a real interest in sustainability through his studies and believes it’s broader than just environmental issues. Randle thinks it’s about making sure the business is visible and approachable, both internally and externally.

Randle has completed an MBA through an apprenticeship in senior leadership, which has helped him bring fresh ideas into the business. He worked out the costs, time commitment, and impact on the business before approaching the company’s owner, who was supportive of his decision.

Community Involvement

Randle thinks that one thing tends to lead to another, and he meets somebody through one project, which leads to another conversation, and another opportunity.

What Keeps Him at Dreamland Bedding

Randle is happy where he is, despite being approached about several different roles in the last month. He believes that if you’ve spent all that time implementing change, why wouldn’t you want to stay around and see it through? Randle thinks you can be ambitious and still be happy where you are.

There’s still so much he wants to do at Dreamland Bedding, and so much potential in the business.

Whether it’s through education, apprenticeships, community projects, sustainability initiatives, or simply running a good business that supports people, Randle believes it’s all connected. At the end of the day, if you can improve things a little bit for the people around you, that’s a worthwhile thing to do.
