Local coffee shop teams with Kayrouz Petroleum for new venture
Kayrouz Petroleum launches a coffee shop inside its new Hyannis KP Market, blending fuel stations with local coffee culture for a unique convenience experience.

Kayrouz Petroleum is expanding its convenience store presence in Massachusetts through a new alliance that merges fuel stations with coffee culture. The firm will introduce a Marylou’s Coffee outlet inside a newly constructed KP Market in Hyannis, Massachusetts, with plans for an official opening by the end of September. This initiative places Kayrouz among other regional operators like Circle K and Gas N Wash, which have also incorporated local coffee brands into their retail spaces.
Unlike larger chains, Marylou’s maintains strong regional ties, operating about 40 locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, primarily through drive-thru formats. Barry Ahern, Kayrouz’s chief retail and people officer, emphasized that Marylou’s is particularly well-known in southern Massachusetts and the Cape Cod area, making it a natural fit for the Hyannis site. Barry Ahern, Kayrouz’s chief retail and people officer, described the partnership as a logical extension for the Hyannis site.
The coffee shop will serve Marylou’s complete menu, including specialty drinks such as hot and cold beverages, frozen drinks like lemonade, and breakfast options such as bagels, stuffed waffles, and breakfast sandwiches. The Hyannis KP Market is one of 11 locations under Kayrouz’s KP Market, KP Market and Liquor, and KP Travel Center banners, which debuted last year. While this marks the first Marylou’s inside a Kayrouz location, Ahern indicated potential for further collaborations if suitable opportunities emerge.
Marylou’s did not reply by press time to questions about whether this is its first convenience store partnership or if any kitchen modifications were needed to fit the space. The KP Market brand operates within Kayrouz’s broader retail network, which includes KP Market and Liquor and KP Travel Center formats. The Hyannis location will serve as the first to feature a Marylou’s, though Ahern did not rule out future expansions if conditions support it. While no additional Marylou’s locations are currently planned, the companies remain open to further partnerships based on market demand.
