Bathtub Gin, a Kent-based craft gin known for its cold-compounding method, has launched a limited-edition organic cotton tea towel designed by food writer Alexandra Dudley. The item will be gifted with every bottle sold at Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Morrisons during the summer, while supplies last. The tea towel features Dudley’s signature summer punch recipe, cocktail sketches, and citrus motifs, aligning with the brand’s “Gin of Hosting” campaign.

This collaboration marks Bathtub Gin’s third in a series focused on home entertaining. Previous partnerships included ceramicist Harlie Brown and restaurant duo Tart London. The brand aims to tap into a growing trend of consumers hosting more frequently at home, using these initiatives to build a platform around the idea of relaxed, communal dining.

Dudley will also serve as Bathtub Gin’s “resident hosting agony aunt,” addressing real-life hosting questions on the brand’s Instagram account. Her role extends beyond the tea towel, reinforcing the campaign’s focus on simplifying entertaining through shared, easy-to-prepare drinks.

Hannah Burden-Teh, Bathtub Gin’s global brand ambassador, emphasized the partnership’s alignment with current drinking habits. “Punches have returned to the center of the table,” she said. “They suit a more relaxed style of entertaining, which matches Bathtub Gin’s home consumption occasion.” The campaign also reflects a broader shift toward family-style dining and shared plates, echoing 1980s nostalgia.

Alexandra Dudley described punch as a “wonderfully relaxed” way to serve drinks. “Serving from a bowl changes the atmosphere,” she said. “It lets you spend time with guests instead of shaking cocktails all evening.” She praised Bathtub Gin for its flavor and presentation, calling it her “go-to” for home cocktails and gifting.

Bathtub Gin’s production process involves cold compounding, a rare method that steepes six botanicals—juniper, orange peel, coriander seed, cassia, cardamom, and cloves—in a bespoke London Dry gin for at least three weeks. The spirit is never redistilled, preserving its depth of flavor. Each batch is hand-tasted and wax-dipped before bottling, resulting in a lightly tinted gin with 40+ international awards to its name.

Dudley’s Summer Punch recipe blends Bathtub Gin with Italian bitter aperitif, fresh citrus juices, and orange bitters. The drink is designed for alfresco settings, offering a lighter take on a classic Negroni. The recipe serves four and is meant to be shared from a punch bowl over ice.

Shoppers can claim a complimentary tea towel with every bottle of Bathtub Gin at Sainsbury’s and Asda starting 1 July, and at Morrisons from 15 July. The limited-edition item is available while stocks last, combining practicality with the brand’s campaign to simplify home entertaining.
