Aldi and Lidl offer Thanksgiving meal deals under $40

Aldi and Lidl are offering Thanksgiving meal deals for under $40, with prices reflecting a competitive push for affordable holiday dining. The discounts feed 10 people and include staple sides and pumpkin pie fixings, though each retailer takes a distinct approach to value.

Price and size differences

Aldi’s bundle costs $38.74, while Lidl’s offering is $35.86 for loyalty members. Aldi’s 2026 deal is more than $1 cheaper than 2025’s and includes a larger turkey, weighing 16 pounds compared to the 14-pound bird included in Lidl’s basket.

Lidl’s pricing is 14 cents lower than last year. The 14-pound turkey is accompanied by around 20 staple ingredients for sides and dessert. Aldi’s side essentials consist of a 12-ounce pack of Hawaiian sweet rolls, three boxes of assorted stuffing, three pounds of sweet potatoes, cranberries, steamable frozen peas, and a tray of baby peeled carrots and celery. For dessert, Aldi provides pumpkin pie ingredients, including pumpkin pie mix, heavy whipping cream, pie crusts, and whole milk, per a Wednesday press release.

Shopping logistics and private labels

Aldi customers can shop the bundle through Nov. 25, with items marked on store shelves by a turkey logo. The discounter is ramping up convenience features, allowing shoppers to add the entire meal bundle to their digital cart in one click when ordering online for pickup or delivery.

Lidl’s deal is only available for Lidl Plus loyalty members and runs from Nov. 11 through Nov. 25. The basket features private label goods, including two cans each of cream of mushroom condensed soup, cut green beans, and jellied cranberry sauces. Other items include evaporated milk, brown gravy mix packets, mini marshmallows, Hawaiian sweet rolls, poultry seasoning, two boxes each of macaroni and cheese and turkey stuffing mix. Dessert ingredients include original whipped topping, pie crust dough, and 100% pure pumpkin.

Additional perks for shoppers

Lidl Plus members receive extra benefits beyond the basket. The discounter is temporarily reducing prices on 100 products each week throughout November. Members who make qualifying purchases once each week can earn up to $25 extra in the LidlPlus app in December.

Lidl is also investing in its workforce, with employees receiving a free turkey and the day off on Thanksgiving, as all stores will close for the holiday.
